Solomon’s Porch: Preamble

He was not one given to the overly dramatic except that one time when instead of castigating the woman caught in adultery he bowed his head and scribbled in the sand like a child or that other time when he spat into mud and used the mix to restore a blind man’s sight.

Disclaimer: I am not an authority on these issues. I am operating with the mind of Christ and despite my own fickle and fragmental knowledge at times I trust that the Spirit of Christ will reveal to you the substance in this shadowy post. Please allow Grace to express itself in you. Special thanks to JMD for spurring me to write, to Tomi of Arike’s Art for speaking up and TJ for just being TJ.

John 17 – New King James Version (NKJV): Jesus Prays for Himself

1. Jesus spoke these words, lifted up His eyes to heaven, and said: “Father, the hour has come. Glorify Your Son, that Your Son also may glorify You,
2. As you have given Him authority over all flesh that He should give eternal life to as many as you have given Him.
3. And this is eternal life that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent.
4. I have glorified you on the earth. I have finished the work which you have given me to do.
5. And now, O Father, glorify Me together with Yourself, with the glory which I had with You before the world was

There is knowledge that puffs up and knowledge that perfects. There is knowledge that gives life and runs deep with passion and intimacy and then one that is full of self and the awareness of good and evil and yet is unable to muster the power to choose properly. Which tree are you eating from?

King Solomon was gifted with wisdom beyond his time. His peers couldn’t match the astuteness of his accomplishments, the prowess behind his publications (some proverbs, psalms, sarcasms and love letters), he was shrewdly succinct in dishing out wisdom yet he displays immense folly in his choice of women among other things.

I remember sitting at Jesus’ feet, feeling the harsh light of the Galilean sun filtering through olive trees hit my back as I stared into his eyes. I remember the rough smell of the fish and the Peter’s loud voice as he harried the Pharisees away from Jesus. I remember the smile on the carpenter’s face as he lifted his face to the heavens and spoke.
He was not one given to the overly dramatic except that one time when instead of castigating the woman caught in adultery he bowed his head and scribbled in the sand like a child or that other time when he spat into mud and used the mix to restore a blind man’s sight. He spoke gently and calmly. This was what he said in my own words. “My mission is to glorify God so much that you will see this Light and know. This is Eternal Life! Knowing God! Knowing me.” – JMD

The bible reveals the mind of God concerning the world. It is this mystery which was hid from patriarchs like Abraham, Job and David, this unfolding secret which Paul declares to be Christ in you. It is not a fancy gimmick or a gaudy film trick. The bible will remain a closed BOOK, an unsolvable riddle unless you allow the Spirit of Truth guide you into ALL TRUTH. Remember who calls himself Da Truth? [Not the rapper ooo – side eye]

We shall gather at Solomon’s Porch, that cosy colonnade, that delightful cloister on the eastern side of the temple [John 10:23; Acts 3:11; 5:12] and like Apostles we shall glorify God. We shall search the scriptures and unveil truth with the hands of love.

Why here of all places?
Solomon’s Porch? Well firstly I like the name and after Rock Haven, if I ever start a church this would be the name. LOL. But seriously this series will be addressing issues as led by the Word of God. Seeking to unfold the secrets in scriptures through study, questions and most important – The Direction of the Spirit. Solomon’s Porch was a place where the Apostles were described as being in one accord and a place of power, signs and wonders.

Why a series?
Arkshually all my mates (fellow bloggers) are doing series na. I really should be a comedian. *dodges piece of rock from the wall of Jericho* Ok! My reason is this: The entrance of His words gives light; It gives understanding to the simple (us). Head Knowledge can’t unravel scripture – Only the Spirit can. I trust that God will through this/these series cause an irreversible change in your mentalities and mine. Upward and Higher in the revelation of HIS will.

I pray that as these series begins God will illuminate His word in your heart and minds. I would have prayed for More Grace for you but Instead I pray that you will gain more insight regarding the Infinite Grace of God already made available by the Cross, the blood and the empty tomb. I pray that as we commence this journey you will SEE a greater OUTWORKING of that FULL INWARD GRACE already in your INNER MAN.

ALL TRUTH IS SPOKEN IN LOVE. IF THERE IS NO LOVE, IT IS NOT TRUTH. Do you agree with this statement

Stay Tuned for the Next Episode…

Petroleum engineer? Yup. But I love writing as much as I love solving complex reservoir engineering problems. Watch out for poetry. Still trying to soar the heights of prose tho' Stay tuned dearies.

    • you don’t know? loool…

I AM THE WAY, THE TRUTH AND THE LIFE. 3 Seemingly different aspects but inextricably connected. THE WAY = THE TRUTH = THE LIFE. and we know that the THE LIFE = KNOWLEDGE OF GOD a kind of knowledge that only comes without absolute INTIMACY.

  1. I can interpret your statement in many different ways
that is why I don’t want to put my foot in it.

I believe that Jesus is the way, the truth and the life.

  2. if there is no love there is no truth. ‘”truth” without love would amount to judgment or condemnation.

All we live for is to glorify Him and do His will. outside of that there is nothing we are doing here. We glorify Him with the help of His ever present Spirit.
