You call me out upon the waters. The great unknown, where feet may fail and there I find You in the mystery. In oceans deep, my faith will stand
And I will call upon Your name and keep my eyes above the wave. When oceans rise my soul will rest in Your embrace. Your grace abounds in deepest waters. Your sovereign hand will be my guide. Where feet may fail and fear surrounds me. You’ve never failed, and You won’t start now
Spirit lead me where my trust is without borders. Let me walk upon the waters wherever You would call me. Take me deeper than my feet could ever wander and my faith will be made stronger in the presence of my Saviour. I will call upon Your name. Keep my eyes above the waves. My soul will rest in Your embrace. I am Yours, and You are mine
Joy floods my heart on waking to the sound of his “Good morning, Loved Child.” Amidst it all, my body cringes in clamour for a little more sleep. On bended knees, I have just spent about an hour pouring out my love and gulping down the huge dose of comfort I can get in the one place such is available.
In about 10 minutes, the demands and necessities of work would come knocking. – “Go have your bath!” “Breakfast?”
In the office restroom, my voice would quiver in expression of the strains experienced at being “weaned” from the place of quietness.
There, I would normally sit without distractions.
Thirst for solitude again would eat me up on hearing “Spirit lead me where my trust is without borders, let me walk upon the waters, wherever you would call me.” Here and now I remember wisdom and strength is given for times of need, when problems would arise.
Answers to my prayers, etched in the lead singer’s cry come like the occasional voicing of the underlying male voice. Little as it seems, it would send in a flood of sufficient re-assurance of The Father’s presence for each step of the way.
He is silent at my anxious questions, expecting that I would wage war with his word. This is what will re-assure me- he will never leave me, nor forsake me. Yes, the process is more important than the result, and here, my faith sprouts through the disparaging difficulties that come attached to the excellent side of life.
Freely I have drunken into this truth. It is my shield and buckler (Psalm 91:4b), when the enemy comes with the thought that all men are exposed to the hazards of the sun by day and moon by night (Psalm 121:6)
Doubtless, He’d gladly cover me with his feathers, as I trust unswervingly under his wings, and my steps, ordered of the Lord, shine brighter unto the perfect day. Even in places where acceleration seems to course slowly, I understand I am never defeated, all things would work out for my good, eventually (Rom 8:28).
While I seek to fulfil my part of the loved necessity of unbroken fellowship, He shelters from the heat of stress and demands, when the blast of the enemies hit against the wall of my soul. (Psalm 46:1-2)
In the end, my mouth is filled with joy, laughter and some more words are bursting forth:
The Lord is my strength, my personal bravery, my invincible army, he makes my feet like hind’s feet, and will make me walk (not stand still in terror, but to walk) and make spiritual progress upon my high places (of trouble, suffering, or responsibility)
