With Me

In the midst of mist and mystery

Lost in the foggy creeks of memory

My heart withers, a lone leaf

alone and tossed by the winds of misery

I swallowed a swig of the hangman’s gin

My music drowned beneath hades’ din

In the darkened vale of vanity

Surrounded by a miasma of misery

Beneath the eerie stare of the element

in a malevolent maze crooked and bent

My soul is frayed and at its wits end

For I walk through the gorge of shadows

Swept away by death’s dreary draft

I walk alone haunted by the hoot and howl

fearful of the chasing horde and hounds of hell

Then I see your rod and shepherd staff

FOR YOU ARE WITH ME

FOR YOU ARE IN ME

FOR THOUGH THE HEAVENS WILT

AND THE EARTH CRUMBLES

though oceans run into the brooks of barrenness

and the creeks creep into chaos

YOU ARE FOREVER

FOR

You ripped apart the heavens

Pouring forth your grace like dew

Your Love surged through the corridors of time

and washed over me like perfume

Your rod and your staff they comfort me

reminding me of the cross and the empty tomb

Your blood speaks pleasantly concerning me

birthing realities from Zion’s womb

You carry me in your arms

and under the shadow of your wings

You etch your insignia on me

You call me yours and say you are mine

Petroleum engineer? Yup. But I love writing as much as I love solving complex reservoir engineering problems. Watch out for poetry. Still trying to soar the heights of prose tho' Stay tuned dearies.

  1. Beautiful. “Your rod and your staff they comfort me, reminding me of the cross and the empty tomb.” Forever grateful for the Holy Spirit who is never far away for He is within us.
