John 3:16

For God so greatly loved and dearly prized the world that He [even] gave up His only begotten (unique) Son, so that whoever believes in (trusts in, clings to, relies on) Him shall not perish (come to destruction, be lost) but have eternal (everlasting) life. – Amplified

Do you want to perish? Don’t answer that... Imagine sour milk on your table… or a festering sore on your arm… Can you picture the filth? Have you ever left amala underneath your bed for weeks? or stayed with a roomie whose farts were as toxic as a post-apocalyptic wasteland? God saw the state of affairs – how man was entrapping himself with his own mind and sent His Word to heal them and save them from their destruction.

If you want to know how and how much God loved the world (kosmos) you need to look at Jesus. If you want to know the magnitude and the way through God displayed to all of creation that the times and lives of men meant something to him, you need to behold the Son.

It is in the giving of the son that God’s love and essence as Love was fully displayed. Breaking the boundaries of race and nation, this Love was lavished on the world with no discrimination. There is no other thing that God wants to give man. Every singular action of God in scripture was tied to this one thing: the giving of His son. How do we know that a car works or that a tap is running or that a meal is tasty?

The giving of the SON is an experience that births life in those who believe. When we cling to the SON and not just the old rugged cross we HAVE a life whose quality is eternal. The reason I say “not the old rugged cross” is this: the Son has left the cross… he has risen from the grave… NOW HE SITS HIGHLY EXALTED with a NAME THAT HIGHER THAN EVERY OTHER NAME.

He is lifted up just as the serpent that Moses forged (Number 21). Not just in His crucifixion where he hoisted on a tree by iron spikes but also in His resurrection and exaltation as the Spirit surged through Him, quickening Him. We have always seen Jesus as the Lion and the Lamb… perhaps it is time we see Him as the Bronze Serpent.?

It is in this exalted position that we as the fruit of redemption find ourselves. We are no longer prey for the enemy, far from it. Our reality is one of vitality as a result of our indwelling, being domiciled in Christ. This is all because God expressed His Love for humanity.

Logically this precludes a lot of the crap that people say about God. If the expression of His Love was giving us Jesus and nothing held him back from this… why then do we allow ourselves to be fed lies? We say that He withholds health from us to teach us lessons about gobbledygook. We blame him for airplane crashes, missing children, storms and “whatchamacallits”.

No! God loves you… You are not having a bad day because it is time for lessons at the feet of God  under the toenails of Majesty with God. No! God has bestowed you with the same quality of life that He possesses. God saw the all-encompassing circle of men and women who inhabit this planet, people who embrace darkness habitually and loved us still.

He is not given to pettiness or petulant spats. He is entirely Love such that anyone who dares to reject him by default rejects Love. And when we reject Him, He is still ready to receive us.  This is the goodness of God that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us. Wake up and smell the coffee pleasant fragrance of this truth:

GOD LOVES YOU PASSIONATELY TODAY

Addendum: But is it even possible to reject this LOVE? For all things are in Him, then even nothingness is in Him. LOL

Are you a whoever? Think long, hard and slowly…  Is your next door neighbor a whoever? Are the members of Bokoharam, Isis and your friendly university cultist whoevers? Is your pastor more of a whoever than that street urchin?

All you need do to HAVE Eternal Life is believe… Just look unto Him.
