Matthew 1:21

Matthew 1:21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins. If the name of the Lord is a strong tower then it is the responsibility of the Christian to understand what that name means. Man’s bane is sin. The bible says that the wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23). We must understand that there is sin (the noun, the nature, the principle) and sin (the verb, the actions). Sin as a principle is at work on the earth. The entire earth is cursed to suffer entropy. Science has taken it upon herself to proffer solutions to this. We have plastic surgery to hide our facial lapses, medicine to slow or even eliminate ageing and so on. Yet they all fail. For the wages of sin is death. Thus Christ came as heaven’s wager – God’s gambit, the hidden joker in the stack of cards.
